Online users have voiced their disapproval of two “The Voice” coaches, one of whom has previously served as a mentor. Following a group performance by the judges to open the show, the comments were made. Following months of build-up, season 26 of NBC’s “The Voice” has returned to television, bringing with it two new cast members and an explosive opening night. Renowned performers Reba Mc Entire and Gwen Stefani have returned to their coach positions, however Dan + Shay, Chance the Rapper, and John Legend—who are also coaches for season 25—have not. This season’s two new coaches are iconic musicians Snoop Dogg and Michael Bublé, who take the place of the three aforementioned industry heavyweights.
On Monday night, September 23, the pair debuted at the singing competition series’ launch. As is normally the case with the show, Snoop, Stefani, Mc Entire, and Bublé will gear themselves for the Blind Auditions in the first few episodes. During this round of the competition, the coaches’ main goal is to assemble a performing squad just by listening to the competitors’ noises. Despite the fact that the premiere was only yesterday, responses and discussion have already been flooding the internet. Numerous online users have expressed disapproval with the choice of Snoop and Stefani as trainers.
“Snoop Dogg is the reason this season is banned! Shameful,” an Instagram user said. One very opinionated member said, “The first episode of this [season] was terrible!!!” What a clumsy judge Snoop is! “[His] attempt to find a competitor in branding and marketing was completely absurd!” The individual continued, saying, “I do not understand why they brought Gwen back. When Blake was on as a judge, she was adorable. Michael is my love. However, I must admit that I am growing disinterested in the event as of late—none of the competitors have truly captured my attention.”
Another judge added, “Snoop Dogg keeps stating the same things over and over,” adding to the contempt for Snoop as a coach and mentioning the other judges as well. They have never had a worse group of judges than they do now. This year, I am not going to watch to see how the ratings turn out.” “Gwen Stefani is grating already, and the show is only nine minutes in.
One viewer said, “Is she always going to use Blake to try to get to the contestants [?] ,” about Stefani and her well-known husband Blake Shelton, a former judge on earlier seasons. Another person joined the chorus of those who did not like Stefani, saying, “After 10 minutes, I am already weary of Gwen,” and another viewer said, “I wish someone else had taken Gwen’s place and switched her smh.”
